While the economic slump has driven many small carriers and owner-operators out of business, others have seen surprising success in their business – simply by using all the features in their load boards.
A load board is a web-based search engine where drivers post trucks and find freight. Like an internet dating service, carriers meet shippers and brokers online. Some carriers use a load board to book every trip and others use it for back hauls. ...

For the past 29 years the community of Belleville, IL has come together to support Charity. The town of Belleville has been hosting the Chili Cook Off since 1983. It started with just a few vendors celebrating their love for chili and has grown to over 70 vendors that serve not only chili of all kinds, but also the usual “fair food” you will find at these sort of events, also there are several beer tents located throughout the Chili Cook Off. We'd like to thank Triple T Tire and Lube in Black River Falls Wisconsin. Trucker Charity had a case today and needed their services. They were the only business in town willing to lend a helping hand to a couple who have had some really hard times.

The wife of the family woke up this morning and got ready to head to her Chemo treatment only to find out that she had a flat tire on her car. Trucker Charity got the call at 11am. She had already missed the treatment today but wanted to make sur...

bureaucratic red tape is going to strangle this industry, but we're cutting through it when we can.

Posted by KMullins on Thursday, March 15, 2012, In : Charity Updates
Back at the end of Feb. We had a driver referred to us by another charity, he was out in California who had a medical issue with his CDL which caused him to be stranded since he couldn't drive his truck. We worked on it with him for 3 weeks and we're happy to report we got his license back today.

I'm pulling this all from memory so indulge me here.

What we did isn't normally what we do but now that we know how to "Get'r Done" we'll be able to help the next driver with this kind of issue.

This g...

It's like the twilight zone, really.

Posted by Kerry on Saturday, December 17, 2011, In : Charity Updates
The situations that we're dealing with this week with drivers needing help are really getting crazy. I'm sitting there listening to their stories and my mouth is literally hanging jaw dropped.  We've been contacted by Landline and they gave us the number of one driver that's caught up in this. He's driving a truck totally illegal, we advised him to find a truck dealership, take pictures of the entire truck and we'll get him home and out of that situation.    http://www.landlinemag.com/todays_...

We're still plugging along, even in this slow economy.

Posted by K Mullins Secretary on Thursday, December 15, 2011, In : Charity Updates
Sometimes I really don't know how we do it, someone's watching over us. We're still plugging along helping truck drivers when they find themselves in bad situations and need a leg up.

6 drivers stranded today, working on the last 2 right now. 50% of them were from CRST. Seems their recruiters are bringing in drivers without checking them out fully that they meet their requirements. Driver had a felony almost 10 years ago, no jail time, told the recruiter but the recruiter claims he didn't tel...

Right now I am recovering from the event, so this will be short! I plan to do a much more in depth write up soon. We had so many great folks to talk to and meet. We did get a lot of awareness out to the folks of who we are and what we do.

Trying to help folks get jobs.

Posted by Truckers Helping on Saturday, January 30, 2010, In : Charity Updates
The short time Trucker Charity Inc. has been around has been a very busy time. We had our plans to roll out in 2010. Yet, the Arrow Trucking situation called for our service to be announced very early.

We get many applications and calls a day. This is great as it means we have a need. I really did not think we would have the influx of need and request that we get on a daily basis. We are working hard to make it all work. We work off donations.

One thing that has been a huge needed service ...

Posted by Lance Wood on Friday, November 13, 2009, In : Charity Updates
The next few months should look to be very good. We are getting ready to get a large letter writing campaign under way for the end of the year. This will assist with locking down donations for next year. We want to make sure we are one of the first charity's in line with the major corporations to get donations lined up for 2010. We will also be soliciting for some large sponsors. This time of year its very difficult to get Corporations on board as they have already expenses their donation cap...
