GOT TRUCK???

April 18, 2013

This year we were approached by Lone Mountain Truck Leasing. They had heard about Trucker Charity and were very interested in helping but didn't quite know in what capacity. When we forge these partnerships we want to give our sponsors a lot of bang for their buck to show the appreciation for their support. Beings that we had formed a trucking side of the charity to help in our educational mission (TCI Transport) we have 3 huge ways of giving that bang. This year at MATS we were able to show off this bang, a 53’ rolling bill board, on one of TCI Transport’s trailers. Lone Mountain Leasing out of Pacific Junction, Ia has generously signed on to fund Trucker Charity with a monthly donation and has wrapped one of our trailers with their logo and information to solidify the partnership. Thanks to their generous monthly donation we will be able to continue on our mission of Get’n them safe, Get’n them fed and Get’n them home and help more drivers and their families in need. Lone Mountain Truck Leasing is a true leasing company which goes by more than your “I love debt score” (credit score). They take into account your good work history at a greater level than credit score. They provide the truck, you provide the carrier that you want to lease to. With Lone Mountain you’re not in a lease with the same company that controls your freight lanes. Lone Mountain allows you to take the truck off site to a mechanic of your choice to have it checked out before you sign the dotted line. They have some great equipment to offer someone looking to jump over to the O/O side of the industry as well as for those looking to replace some tired equipment.

We have experienced great interest in them while the charity truck stops at fuel stops and shippers/receivers. Tony Hamilton has all the information with him and will be glad to explain how they work. So if you see a giant Peterbilt jumping off of a trailer coming right at you, stop Tony and get the low down.

Truckers: Make More Money in a Tough Economy
While the economic slump has driven many small carriers and owner-operators out of business, others have seen surprising success in their business – simply by using all the features in their load boards.
A load board is a web-based search engine where drivers post trucks and find freight. Like an internet dating service, carriers meet shippers and brokers online. Some carriers use a load board to book every trip and others use it for back hauls. ...

Special food delivery

December 18, 2012
While these boys' dad is out delivering groceries for other families his own family got a special delivery. It warms our hearts here at Trucker Charity to know that these boys won't go to bed with empty bellies. This family is getting a hand up out of the rut we all get stuck in from time to time. Making sure the bills are paid with little left over for food.

Special thanks to volunteers Rodney and Syndi Bartlett.

The Trucking Community lost one of it's finest.

June 20, 2012

John Collins

   10/25/1948 - 05/22/2012

Husband, father, grandfather and one of the greatest friends a truck driver could have. The trucking industry lost one of it’s finest and we are all shocked and saddened.

John was 64 years young.

John was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a POW for 5 months. He was shot out of a helicopter, fell in the water and captured. He earned 4 purple hearts and 3 bronze stars. He felt he was the protector of all the guys in his platoon. He couldn’t talk about much ...
