Here is a recap of the 2011 Christmas group fund drive:

·        23 nominations were received for needy trucking families

·        7 were disqualified (non trucking, no contact info, etc)       

·        16 voted on anonymously on a private website                   

·        10 families were selected to receive funds for Christmas  

Over $7,000 was distributed to needy trucking families just in time for Christmas

The Christmas Group has raised $37,000 and helped 59 needy families in 4 years

THANKS TO EVERYONE who donated and helped make this another GREAT year!!

HO HO HO Merry Christmas!!! 


The 2011 Trucker Charity Christmas Group Fundraiser was another success! A special THANKS to all of our vendors and supporters who donated to this wonderful cause. Thanks to your contributions Trucker Charity was able to send 10 families a $700 Christmas bonus. We'll be posting family spotlights up in our blog soon for all to share in their experience.


Remember you can contribute to the Trucker Charity Christmas Group Fundraiser all year round by indicating in the "special instructions to" text box at check out that your donation or purchase is for the Christmas Group. Let's get a head start on next year!!

 How It All Began

This will be our 4th year doing the Christmas Group fund drive to benefit needy trucking families. A little history of how we got started. A guy going by the handle of Wonderful Wayne came up with the idea, posted on a trucking social site and the rest is history.

"Got to thinkin about Christmas. I like to help the needy. Thought maybe my fellow truckers might want to join me in setting up a fund right here on CDL for some trucker families that might be in need of having a good Christmas. I'm not good on this computer thing, so I'm asking for your help.

We would need someone to take charge of the money situation. I wouldn't know how to do that. I will start the contributions by making my donation and we can proceed from there. We would need  someone to be in charge of finding the families. I guess what I am trying to say is getting a committee together. Tell me what you think of this idea. I appreciate all comments pro and con.

If anyone has another idea put it up here and we can talk about it.( NOTE: Thanks to Marie an Maggie for helping me with this!!!!)”

 Well here it is 4 years after Wonderful Wayne had this idea and we're having such great success and response to our event that we're thrilled to do it again.

In the 4 years since Wonderful Wayne’s idea was put in motion by a group of fellow truckers, over $37,000 has been distributed to 59 needy trucking families in the US and Canada. Several past recipients have joined the group to return the favor from their trucking brothers and sisters.

Please remember to patronize these businesses throughout the year. Without their generosity and continued support the success of this Christmas project would not be possible.

A Special Edition Ornament

We'll have an ornament for every year, this year the Christmas Group Fundraiser  is sponsoring the ornament. If you or your company would like to sponsor next year's ornament please inquire at our Customer Service . The picture really doesn't do it justice, these ornaments are brilliantly bright. They'd look great on your tree AND hanging in your truck, so buy two. :)

 


 


This fund created to help needy trucking families is donation driven. There are many ways you can support our group and our mission to help families in need during Christmas time. These donations are earmarked for the Christmas Club ONLY and will not be used in our year long mission of "Getting them safe, Getting them fed and Getting them home.

Please consider a donation, even if it's only a dollar, it will make some trucker's family VERY HAPPY and appreciative. After your donation you'll be forwarded to a page where you can listen to phone calls of previous families that our group has helped.



Here you can sign up for recurring payments throughout the year. Again all donations made here will go to the Christmas Group Fundraiser. Just make the notation in the special instructions to seller.
